Branded Content Platform Case Study with MaxPreps
While with Fantag, we created a Branded Content Platform that enabled us to integrate our video technology into other company’s mobile apps using our SDK offering. Our technology allowed companies to include short video highlights inside their apps that they could monetize through the use of short pre-roll advertisements and watermarks.
When MaxPreps became one of our first customers using the Branded Content Platform, we decided to use this as an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of our technology. We targeted several high school football games in the Sacramento area that we filmed and created highlights for with the goal of accumulating as many views as possible on those highlights within the MaxPreps app. For pre-game marketing, we ran Instagram and Facebook ads within 30 miles of the games targeting fans, students and parents with the goal to push them to the MaxPreps App to view the created video highlights.
Through promoting and filming several games in a two month span, we achieved the results we were looking for to create a case study. The graphic above represents one of our best games. Although $160 for a single game may not sound impressive, MaxPreps has thousands of games happening nationwide through out the school year. From a volume standpoint, the Branded Content Platform has created a new potential stream of revenue in their already existing app.
During this initiative, I took on a large amount of ownership in the required goals and tasks. I was responsible for the social media pre-game marketing, filming the games and tracking our KPI’s. I created the graphic above using Canva and it was used for a variety of purposes within our company.
Reviving and Managing ScoreVision Academy
In my time with ScoreVision, I wore many hats working mostly with the Sales, Marketing and Creative teams but my favorite part was helping revive and launch ScoreVision Academy.
ScoreVision Academy is a structured program we created to help high school students learn real-world skills in graphic design, video production, marketing, sales and much more through the use our software and technology. The program was developed using a variety of resource guides and learning labs that include projects, tasks and goals that help teachers and students learn the ScoreVision products while also challenging them to think outside the box. The tangible skills that students learn through the program can be used for future internships, job opportunities and college applications. Students learn real skills using programs like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, iMovie and much more.
ScoreVision Academy was an idea started by the CPO and Co-Founder David Sutter but had fallen to side with so many other tasks needing to be completed. When Fantag was acquired in early 2020 by ScoreVision, I saw this as an amazing opportunity to take on the management of the project and help move it forward. I wrote and contributed to many of the guides and learning labs. I also was responsible for meeting with educators and industry professionals to get feedback and ideas on the program to improve it. Today, several ScoreVision customers use the program to help their students get more involved using the ScoreVision products and learn new real-world skills.
Created Video Content
Fantag Sideline Reporter Testimonial
I created this testimonial using iMovie. We asked the sideline reporter if he could record himself giving a testimonial on his experience in using Fantag. I used highlights created through Fantag and overlaid them on the video. I found the background music in Youtube’s Audio Library which is royalty free.
Social Media Ad Used for MaxPreps Case Study
Mentioned in the Projects section, I created a short social media video to be used to push fans, students and parents to the MaxPreps app during games. This video was targeted toward Facebook and Instagram users within a 30 mile radius of this particular game. I created the video in iMovie using a highlight we had created using Fantag. I overlaid images from the MaxPreps app that I edited in Canva. I added music from Youtube’s Audio Library.
ScoreVision Summer Recap 2020
This video was created in Adobe Premiere Pro. The purpose was to create a piece of content to start our Back to School social media campaign. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, I saw this as a unique opportunity to showcase our company’s progression, perseverance and spirit. I overlaid multiple images using our various marketing materials and used Photoshop to edit them. I found the background music on the Envato Market.
Created Various Fantag Support Videos
I created several videos like this one to demonstrate how specific features in our product worked. It was created using a screen record in QuickTime and put together in iMovie. I recorded my voice using my laptop’s microphone.
IHSSN Customer Testimonial for Fantag
I created this video using iMovie. We did a Zoom video call interview with their director of events and screen recorded it. I overlaid video highlights they created using Fantag throughout the season. I added the background music from Audio Jungle.
Created Many Highlight Reels for Fantag
Because Fantag was an instant video highlight technology, I created many highlight reels for social media and other marketing purposes. This one is from the 2019 North Carolina Basketball State Championship tournament. I used our technology to create highlights through their live stream during the games and created a highlight reel to capture the entire weekend of events. iMovie was used to create this and music was found on Youtube’s Audio Library.
Blogs and Copywriting
ScoreVision Blog Writing
I wrote and contributed to several blog posts at ScoreVision. The goal of the content was to educate and update both current and future customers in features updates, news and best practices.
IHSSN Case Study
One of our top customers with Fantag, IHSSN (Iowa High School Sports Network) worked with us to create a Case Study on how they were utilizing Fantag during high school athletic events.
ScoreVision Academy
While with ScoreVision, I wrote several guides and learning labs that teachers and students use in the ScoreVision Academy program. Click below to see a portion of the Social Media Guide which was written to help Athletic Directors utilize social media accounts during athletic events.
Social Media Posts
While with Fantag, I managed the company social media accounts. This includes Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Youtube. We used the accounts to showcase our technology and engage with potential users.
